Hello everyone, I'm back again for another 'My day in...' adventure and this time I went to Tunbridge Wells and stayed in the Smith & Western hotel. I love the area, my boyfriend and I have been to many different places within the area and always have an amazing time. However, for this hotel to be hidden from me for so long is astonishing. Today I will be talking about the things I have learned before turning the age of 22.  It was recently my 22nd birthday, and apart from feeling further away from my teenage years, I just didn't feel that excited for the year to come. It was a mixture of hope that this year was going to be 'my year', the year that my life will finally get going in the direction that I have been waiting for, but also disappointment as I haven't had any new interviews in a while so why would my luck suddenly change? In my new series 'My day in...', it will consist of my recommendations for what sights and activities to do in a specific town that I have visited. This is to give you ideas for places to go and they will all be in England, as 'staycations' are this year's safest bet for being able to actually enjoy a mini-holiday. On my birthday, my boyfriend surprised me with an overnight trip to Canterbury. I've been there many times before with my family and him, and I love hearing the historic tales of the town and exploring what the bustling high-street has to offer. I graduated last year with a 1st Class Degree in English Literature, I was over the moon with the result as I had worked so hard to achieve it. I was also the President of a Society and a Student Programme Representative. Therefore, I naively thought that it wouldn't be very long before I landed my first role to kick start my career and to fully begin adult life. Once I graduated, I realised that I had no industry experience, so I got accepted into an internship with a luxury magazine and worked there for 3 months. After that, I had a temporary contract, which gave me a decent salary for Christmas, within the Communications sector of a world-leading manufacturing company. So once that contract had finished, I found myself unemployed at the start of 2020, little did I know it was yet to be the worst time for me to be unemployed. Hello everyone! I've always loved challenging myself, pushing myself out of my comfort zone and making lifelong memories which I will cherish forever. The daring Leo within me loves making bucket lists and I want to achieve as much as I possibly can in my life.
